A caring, structured environment for learning

 

At Latymer Learning, we provide more than tuition — we offer Ofsted-registered childcare with an educational focus, creating a safe, structured environment where children can learn, develop independence and receive individual support.

Our childcare setting operates in accordance with the relevant safeguarding, safety and welfare requirements, giving parents reassurance that their children are cared for in a safe and well-supervised environment.

Every child follows a personalised study plan designed and overseen by our lead tutor, with learning available in Maths, English and Science. Children work through structured worksheet activities designed to develop independent thinking, while individual guidance and supervision are available throughout each session.

 

Tutor-led learning

Our lead tutor provides direct teaching, ongoing assessment and academic oversight, adapting materials and pacing to each child's ability and individual needs.

Children generally work in small groups of 2–3 students with an assistant tutor, allowing them to receive close individual attention while also benefiting from learning alongside other children.

The assistant tutor supports children with their work, explains questions where needed and helps them stay focused and engaged. This small-group approach allows children to work independently while ensuring that support is readily available throughout the session.

We use carefully designed worksheets and learning materials that support the National Curriculum and build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy and scientific understanding.

Every activity has a clear purpose — helping children develop and master skills progressively while building confidence and independence in their learning.

 

Safe and supportive childcare

As an Ofsted-registered childcare setting, our sessions operate within clear childcare, safeguarding and welfare procedures, including:

• Continuous supervision throughout sessions
• Clear safeguarding and behaviour procedures
• Secure sign-in and collection arrangements
• Appropriate staff checks and safeguarding training
• Communication with parents regarding learning, progress and wellbeing

Our team

Led by Farhana Haque

Latymer Learning is owned and led by Mrs Farhana Haque, who oversees the whole operation, including the learning programme, staffing, safeguarding, childcare standards, resources and day-to-day running of the centre.

Farhana works closely with Mrs Parlak and Mrs Waheed, our other managers, who help oversee the children’s learning and planning, monitor their progress and support the tutors in ensuring that each child receives appropriate guidance and support.

Our assistant tutors work with children in small groups of 2–3, providing individual guidance and support with their planned work.

All staff are appropriately DBS-checked and receive relevant safeguarding training. Together, our team works to provide a structured, supportive environment where children can learn confidently and develop independence.
